Description
Placing Your Fleet
Every match begins with ship placement. You decide where each vessel sits on your board, and those choices directly affect how long you survive. A predictable layout gives the AI easy targets; a scattered or clustered arrangement can force wasted shots. Because the opponent is an AI, it follows patterns you can learn to anticipate over repeated matches.
Turn-by-Turn Combat
Once both fleets are positioned, players alternate firing at coordinates on the enemy grid. A hit lets you fire again, so locating a ship quickly can snowball into a decisive run. A miss passes the turn. The core loop mixes memory (tracking which squares you've already tried), logic (deducing where remaining ships must be), and risk assessment (choosing between systematic coverage and chasing a promising lead).
Classic vs. Advanced Modes
Classic mode strips the game to pure battleship: guess, hit, sink. Advanced mode adds a points system earned through play. Those points buy power-ups that reveal enemy positions or provide hints, giving you tools to recover from bad luck or press an advantage. The mode changes how you manage resources across a match, not just where you click.
Reading the AI's Patterns
The AI opponent fires according to its own logic, and observing its choices reveals tendencies you can exploit. If it favors certain quadrants or follows a grid, you can adjust your placement in future matches. This feedback loop between matches is where the game's strategic depth lives, rewarding players who study rather than guess randomly.
